I've had 3 of the Winix 5520 for a while now and honestly it's been one of those purchases where you kinda forget it's there because it just does its job. What I like most is that it automatically adjusts to the air quality without me having to mess with it. If we're cooking, spray cologne or something in the house, or even kick up dust cleaning, you can literally hear it ramp up on its own and clear the air out pretty quick. It's also super easy to clean and maintain. Popping the filters out and cleaning things up takes almost no effort, which matters because if something is annoying to maintain, most people eventually stop doing it. Only real downside I've found is the Wi-Fi. If you manually power it off and back on like if you open windows for the day and shut it down it makes you reconnect it to Wi-Fi again, which gets a little annoying. Overall though, I'd buy it again. It's been solid, works without me constantly babysitting it, and you can genuinely notice the difference in air quality.

Good for smoke that's what I use it for. Let it run on level before max, and when you leave the run run it on max for a hour or two after. That paired with proper ventilation (window fan) and clean air. (Cracked open door a few inches) Will impressively filter out smoke and smell.

This is my initial review of this item. From the start it is so easy to set up that my kid did it for me. Everything is easy to understand and i didnt have to read the manual like most everything else nowadays. Its been going for a day. I think the air feels cleaner, crisper, its weird actually. My house is in the country its filthy. Everyone brings mud in on shoes. We have dogs 12 cats inside! So i opened the filter up to see if it was working and yep theres a bunch of cat hair and little pieces of confetti from a christmas thing. I dont know how it sucked those up. Seems like a great value. Im trying onne 3 c that price in another room and truthfully havent noticed it doing any better. The expensive ones filter was still clean after a day so im going to buy these winnex ones for all the rooms.
