Pleasantly Surprised

I've considered purchasing a “good” ice chest for several years, but chose to not spend the money. This being said, I decided to pull the trigger on a better insulated chest because I had a load of frozen food. I chose the RTIC Ultra-light 52 qt. chest. After my first twelve our trip, I arrived to my destination with the item still frozen, the chest full of ice, and very little melting. I have to say I was somewhat impressed. Four days later, I still had ice. This ice chest seems to be well made, it's thick walled, easy use handles, and easy to open and close. While I found this ice chest quite expensive, I also found it better than any ice chest I've owned. I recommend you give RTIC ice chests a hard look.

Colman vs RTIC, RTIC WINS

So far this thing is a beast. I've cold sodas after two days of being in the car through Utah and Nevada. The walls are thick, so it looks bigger from the outside, but easy to handle and cold.

Holds ice like main stream media buzzwords. But in all seriousness, the cooler works great. Throw a bag of ice in it the night before your trip then fill it before you leave with ice and whatever forms of sustenance you desire. No real ice melt for the two-day trip and those days were in the high 80s and low 90s and it was in the sun most of the day. Outperformed our old cooler by a lot in that same scenario last year.
