I purchased this watch as a replacement for my Timex Expedition that I have worn since 2012. My dad was trained as a watchmaker in the military, and I learned to appreciate good quality mechanical watches. Over the years, I wore one one his Bulova wristwatches, several different Timex self winding watches, an Elgin self winding (destroyed by a watchmaker tasked with replacing a cracked crystal in 1984), a Swatch quartz (the proprietary plastic band broke and in pre Internet shopping era, no replacement was readily available), and then a stainless steel yachting mechanical countdown watch (quietly rusting on the bottom of Lake Erie just off the mouth of the Black River since 1996), then I acquired my first Timex quartz watch. The Expedition was my primary tactical watch and went through 4 batteries before the crown just fell off! Unable to find a replacement Expedition in the same style with a rotating bezel (I used it as a diving watch as well as a tactical timer), I purchased this Bomieux as a stop gap. It features an easy read face with a subdued case and OD nylon band. The price was too hard to pass up. A year later, and I have found this inexpensive metal watch with the name Lavaredo on the face to be waterproof to 10 meters, and quite light and comfortable attached to my tiny wrists linked to massive hands and pudgy fingers! Now if I could only easily manipulate the crown to properly set the date/date with my arthritic fingers! This product is great value and very good durable quality!

I particularly want to state that for me this watch band is the most satisfactory, best functioning watch band I have ever owned! It is easy to put on and adjust for size, and surely it will last as long as this excellent time piece does.
