I was a little worried that these shorts would look silly with the ruffles, but I adore these. The material is light weight and soft. The ruffles make this look like an adorable skirt without the fear of a stiff breeze. I purchased the gray and didn't have issues with see through, but the material is thin, so if you pick a lighter color, you may want to check to make sure nothing shows through. Bonus, these are very breathable and dry quickly. The length is nice as the inseam is long enough to stay modest. It lands about mid thigh on me. (I'm 5'6" but have long legs and a short torso.) The tie is an adorable touch. I would absolutely recommend these.
