It is sturdy, not cheap feeling and the slats have velcro on them making it much easier to install! only gripe is we have it in a corner and when you walk up to the bed, your foot naturally goes to the middle of the bed and kicks the support beam but that may just be me lol. its the perfect height off the ground for a kid
