material is smooth and colors are heather just like the picture and not solid so you can wear them with more colors, elastic band is a comfortable width. I am 5ft 4in, 150 lbs. and a size large fits a little loose but the tie makes them adjustable. I bought them to sleep in but I can talk to the neighbors or delivery people without hiding behind the door. They look nice. The pockets are great for my phone since I have medical issues and have to have my phone all the time.
