I read tons of reviews on this type of fan and took a chance on this one. I am very happy with my purchase. It definitely cools down my room. It does get a bit louder when increasing the speed, but I don't find it to be obnoxiously loud. If you are a light sleeper, it might be an issue, but I would imagine that would be with any fan. It is super lightweight, so it's easy to move about a room or to another room. The base took seconds to put on the tower. Admittedly, I thought it seemed flimsy, but it needs to sit with some "give" as it allows the fan to "swing" (move side to side). I like the tall, sleek look of the fan and that it's not bulky. I definitely recommend this fan.
