This item has been a definite damage preventing case. i am the worst about leaving my phone in places that when lost, end up being found with product ending damage. i.e. i left my phone on top of my car at the fuel pump and drove off not even thinking about my phone. when i remembered where it was it was to late. my phone was laying on the highway two miles from the gas station and was virtually destroyed. it had been run over time and time again that day leaving nothing but a shattered piece of unusable communication tech. unusable and shattered. i had no case protector for protection but immediately bought a new phone and the best phone case available for that model. since then i have dropped my phone numerous times onto hard pavement and other surfaces without so much as a blemish on the case or phone. it is worth the money for these cases and i highly recommend purchasing a case AND the tempered security screen protectors for complete security and piece of mind.
