considering the cost of these I was more concerned than I should have been they are durable they are very good quality we have cats that like to use anything and everything on the floor as a scratching post and they have yet to damage these we have an elderly cat who tends to go outside of the box when they get used like that we just simply take them outside wash them with a little soap and water and leave them out in the sun to dry bring them back in ready to go again

Works better than other style mats

I ordered 2 of these cat litter mats, and they work better than other mats we tried as far as trapping litter. However, this larger size is much harder to dump out than the smaller version. I make a huge mess trying to wrangle the mat and dump back into the litter box. The smaller one is pretty easy. The material rinses off well, and dries fairly quickly. With nice weather I've done that outdoors. This winter the shower will have to do. Be careful when spraying the honeycomb part. It will splash back at you!
