I love this carpet cleaner. Personally I would put this on before I started cleaning. I think if it is allowed to marinate for 30 minutes it leaves a nice scent behind. The longer that I keep it on the stronger the scent. I mean you can smell the scent when you open the door strong. Also I do t think I get fleas because my dog is a inside dog and I only remember seeing one in her life. But that was actually a time when I'd stopped using this. I did read somewhere that baking soda kills fleas. I think it's because unless you have one of those arms a little will stay on the corner of the carpet

On the weekend, my very elderly cat peed on my expensive oriental rug. It smelled awful. I ordered same day delivery and got the Arm and Hammer powder within the hour and literally poured it on the spot. Left it there for several hours then vacuumed it up. It took care of the small, but I worried about rug damage. On Monday I called the rug cleaning guy. He said he was booked up, but then suggested I use Arm and Hammer until he could get here.
