Transformers: Retro 40th Anniversary Soundwave, Laserbeak, & Ravage Kids Toy Action Figure

Preordered a Transformers set that is hard to come by. Made the online purchase on Oct. 20th 2023 and the projected delivery date was for Jan. 17th 2024. On the 17th order progress bar was stuck on Preparing. Once the delivery date passed(now 7 days), the progress bar is stuck on Delayed. Called Customer Service and find out my ordered item is on BACKORDER, due to the item being out of stock! So basically, Walmart allowed me to place a preorder for an item they didn't have in stock. Preorders basically exceeded their actual stock of the item! I was given the option to either cancel the order or wait another 10 days. I chose 10 days to see if it will be in stock again. Most probably not as once Transformers go out of stock, then most likely that was it! My bank has the price amount set aside and on hold. I can cancel and get a full refund, so I'm worried about losing my money. What kind of business practice is this that you can do a preorder transaction, yet the item is out of stock?! Will try to avoid being fooled from Walmart again, as this has possibly cost me to never own this item(had I avoided wasting my time, I could maybe have purchased this item by some other means).

Once again, Walmart did a poor job when it comes to shipping items that are intended to be gifted. Items are preordered and paid for in advance, only for the customer to end up in disappointment when Walmart decides to place items in a bag instead of a box. I now have to go to my local Walmart AGAIN, stand in a long return line, AGAIN, to return an item that should have just been shipped properly in the first place to avoid all of this nonsense. Thanks again Walmart.
