I wasn't sure about it when I got it because it was stiff as cardboard. I washed it in liquid fabric softener (sensitive skin) which has no dies or perfumes. It took 2 washes but it's ready to go... soft. I wore it several times last deer season and already this turkey season and I'm very pleased with this coat as well as the pants that go with it.
