The Elk Fork parka is well insulated and has a draw cord at the bottom to keep out the drafts and a non detachable hood. I was comfortable sitting in the open on a gray overcast day in the mid 20s with a 5 to 10 mph wind with long underwear and a down vest under the parka. There are 2 handwarmer pockets, 2 side zip breast pockets and 2 mesh inner pockets. The quality of the materials and stitching is very good. This is a great parka at a good price.

When I first purchased this coat 3 years ago I thought it might not last long. I was wrong I hunt archery, firearm and muzzleloader seasons in Indiana in a briar patch infested woods. I shot a whitetail that ran into a cattail marsh and by the time I dragged it out of the marsh I had fallen in the mud twice. One wash in the washing machine and it was like new. It still is waterproof and the briars have not torn it yet and all of the zippers still work. It is warm and the cost was quite reasonable. Chuckle burrs stick to it but they stick to lots of stuff.
