Not much taller than a mouse

I plugged it into my Mac Mini with the cable that came with it. Turned my Mac computer on and it automatically found the LaCie. I am using it for Time Capsule back ups and for Photoshop scratch disk space. It saved me from spending $$$$ on an upgraded Mac computer. The built-in stand has a rubber grip with lots of rubber feet so it doesn't scratch my desktop. It is small, not much taller than a mouse, but heavy-duty feeling.

Solid LaCie

LaCie D2 have been the workhorse external desktop storage for many years. They are great to hold a lot of video files, stills, and audio. The form factor looks great sitting on top of my desk and can easily be tucked away on a shelf if working on other projects. You'll see several of these on editors desks because they are so solid.

Excellent build and whisper quiet

My old Seagate drive used for archiving had a few bad sectors, after looking around I decided on the LaCie for the extra warranty. I was very, pleasantly surprised, surprised at the all metal build and how quiet it is. My previous Seagate archive is still going strong, just for safety I replaced it, I think this new one will do better
