I ordered this blood sugar monitor for my brother because buying a good monitor, lancet device, lancets, and strips, can get expensive. Even after reading hit or miss reviews, I figured Id only lose $20. My brother is not a patient person so I didn't want to put out too much if he'd just get frustrated and give up. I decided to completely read the instructions, and help my brother try it and even he was surprised how easy it was. I can't speak on what others received but if you do exactly what the instructions say about putting your blood almost completely to the side, where the arrow points to, but enough to let it flow across the whole stripe, it literally takes 5 secs and tells you your blood sugar. The glucose control solution was a bit tricky because of the consistency but recognized it immediately when I added another drop and was within the right range. He even text me the next day about it being so simple. I recommended he try back to back readings because i was still holding my breath reading reviews but they were consistent and accurate for the last 4 days. You don't have to spend more than $20! 100 strips and lancets? You can't beat that or the simplicity of the system. Even the more expensive ones aren't that simple. You can buy another 100 strips online as well when you run out. Another tip, was someone mentioning taking the lancet out was difficult and kept stabbing them but if you keep the circle you pull off and place it horizontally on the needle after use, and before removal, you'll save yourself a lot of pain. Again, it was mentioned in instructions. Just read them and even if it sounds tricky just try above. Hope this helps some people! Also the case is pretty basic and fits monitor, lancet pen, and a bottle of strips shoved in but will do. Again hardly something to complain about for only $20!!

Great value and easy to use. It took me a bit to realize the right place spot on the strip to place the blood. Hint: not the tip but the stripe on strip. The only “easier” meter was the Breeze which held a disk of ten strips so you didn't have to place a new strip in the meter each time. Unfortunately those were discontinued for some unknown reason. It was a great loss to those of us with shaky hands.
