Star Trek (Three-Disc Special Edition) [Blu-ray]

I've seen this movie 4 times in the theater, I bought it about 15 mins ago, and I'm going to stay up and watch it for the 5th time, but this time on BLURAY! This movie was made and kept in mind the kids of a younger generation. I've seen all of the star trek movies, and I can honestly tell you that it is one of the best I've ever seen. The story line is easy to follow, special effects are amazing, the writing, the director, the music composer, are all simply amazing. I can't say enough good about this flim. Great low price.. It's the same price at the store as online. BUT - the DVD special edition is only 9.88 online, and 19.96 at the store! So if you are buying the DVD, buy online!! This special edition DOES NOT come with a dvd. Wish it had. :(

Being a Life Long Fan of the Original Star Trek Series and watching it as a kid on a B&W TV in the 60's, there were things I loved about this Movie and there were things that I thought could have been done better. But quite frankly, overall, this movie is Outstanding. If you haven't see it yet, I will not ruin it for you but to only say this. If you are a hard core Trekker and don't like traveling outside Trek Canon, this movie may not be for you. But if you like alternate realities, this is chock full of them. It also appeals to non trekkers, it's the first Star Trek movie that my son and I watched, that he actually watched the whole thing without being bored! Features of the Blu-ray Disk, it came with 3 disk, #one is the BD Feature, #two is the Special Features (Deleted scenes, comentary, and BD-Live), and the third disk was a Digital Copy that can be downloaded to an iPod or computer, and a Beta Game for the X-Box 360. I haven't played the game, but my son states that it is a little lame. That statement can also apply to the BD-Live Feature. It only shows NASA News feeds. I have seen BD-Live on other movies that allow everyday people to critique the movie with video of them. That would have been much more interesting. If you like all things Trek, and you want to turn some of your friends and family into future Trekkers, then this purchase would be "Most Logical". Enjoy the show.
