Bought a gooseneck phone holder a while ago. It was absolutely hopeless trying to twist it to a wanted position. And within weeks it got gradually louder and louder. Not good when in bed. So out of frustration (when the plastic locking nut sheared off) I went for something more substantial. Hence my review of this product. It's great. It easily supports my phone or my tablet without loosing its position - because there are locking knobs at each junction. Overall, a great holder. Much recommended.
