Coleman Classic 100 QT Hard-Sided Ice Chest Cooler with Wheels, Lakeside Blue

I bought it in order to transport a quarter of a cow that was packaged and frozen from Alabama to Kentucky. It is a 6 1/2 hour drive. Not a single item was even slightly defrosted ! The temperature outside was 101 and inside the car 72. I will be buying three more so that I can transport an entire cow to Chicago! I suggest that if it's a hot day, you keep it in the house overnight with the lid open so the temperature inside can at least be room temperature that way when you pack your meat in there it's not fighting against a hot container.

This 52 qt chest is a replacement for the 48 qt "classic" I've had for over 20 years - the old one still works, but just seems not to hold the cold as well as it used to (understandable). The new one held the ice as advertised, minimum top-ups. One thing, in the 48 qt. chest, there is a ridge on the inside about an inch below the rim, I seem to remember having a tray that fit into the chest on this ridge - great idea; the 52 quart chest has no ridge, so no tray - too bad, makes the new chest just short of perfect.
