I figure my dogs might get fuller on higher protein diet. They always act hungry on the traditional Purina recipe. I have fend my dogs the traditional Purina recipe for years! Never had a problem, maybe the company changed the recipe. Companys do that once in awhile. Brownie, Koko, and Whitie, seem to like the flavor! That's a plus! I have 3 giant breed dogs and go through about 36 pounds of food in ten days. They free feed and are not overweight. They are various ages - 2 years, 4 years, and 12 years; an AKC mastiff, a rescue mastiff, and a 1/4 dane -mastiff mix puppy. Mastiffs and similar giant breeds are known for being low-energy, but their large size demands a food high in protein. I have tried other foods, especially those for giants and in the Purina family and found this to be an amazing balance of value and quality.

Seems to be very good dog food at a fair price. My beagle is able to keep up our very active lifestyle no problem while feeding this kibble. She also enjoys it, to be fair she needed a change after being on the same kibble for at least a year straight. I would recommend this food. PS. She's 5.5 years old, no health issues.
