About this item

Product details

FCC ID MMAGXT1050G. The Midland GXT1000VP4 is Midland's best-selling GMRS two-way radio, trusted by outdoor enthusiasts, off-roaders, and families who need reliable, license-backed communication when cell coverage isn't an option. With 50 GMRS channels and 142 privacy codes (up to 3,124 channel combinations), you can always find a clear frequency — even in busy campgrounds or at events. The NOAA Weather Scan + Alert automatically tunes to your local weather station and warns you of incoming severe weather before it arrives. The eVOX hands-free system with 9 sensitivity levels keeps your hands free on the trail, the farm, or behind the wheel. The Whisper mode lets you quietly contact someone in your group without disturbing others. 10 different call alert tones let you identify who's calling at a glance. Each radio is JIS4 splash-resistant: built to handle rain and water spray from all directions. Not rated for submersion. Dual power options give you flexibility: use the included rechargeable NiMH battery pack for all-day use, or swap in 4 standard AA batteries when you need a quick field replacement. GMRS License Notice: GMRS radios require an FCC license to operate legally. A single $35 license covers you and your immediate family for 10 years — a quick and easy process at the fcc website. 3-year manufacturer's warranty included.
  • Long-Range Communication: Covers massive open terrain like fields, trails, and campgrounds (max range in clear line-of-sight; typically 1–3 miles in forests or suburban areas). Three power modes let you extend battery life when full range isn't needed.
  • 50 GMRS Channels + 3,124 Channel Combinations: Stay on a clear, private frequency in crowded areas, 22 standard GMRS channels plus 28 extra channels, each with 142 CTCSS/DCS privacy codes. Compatible with other Midland FRS/GMRS handhelds.
  • NOAA Weather Scan & SOS Siren Built In: Automatically scans all 10 NOAA weather channels and locks on to the strongest signal, alerts you when severe weather enters your area. The SOS siren helps signal your location in an emergency.
  • Hands-Free eVOX Operation with 9 Sensitivity Levels: Talk without pressing a button using Voice-Operated Transmission (eVOX). Ideal for hiking, biking, or driving. Dual power options: included NiMH rechargeable battery pack or 4 AA alkaline batteries (not included).
  • Splash-Resistant & Ready for the Outdoors (JIS4 Rated): Built to handle rain, splashing, and wet hands, JIS4 rating means it withstands water from all directions. Not designed for submersion. Desktop charger and boom mic headsets included in the box
