I bought this set for my son and I to go to camp. Light weight though it be, the plates are study and held up to the large quantities of food that was served. Any heat from the food was not transferred to the plates so that it could not be held and the turned up side made it easier to hold as well. I absolutely love this set and have even used it at home for meals.
