How do I measure a bike for my child when ordering online?
When your child can't physically try out a bike for height, you can measure for the right size. Have your child stand against a wall wearing the same style shoes most often worn when riding. Make a light pencil mark on the wall, and measure from the mark to the floor. Subtract one inch to get the bike stand over height. The inseam measurement is more accurate than a height measurement.
What tools do I need to put a bike together?
Many bikes come with the tools you'll need for assembling the seat, handlebars, brakes, pedals, and wheels. You might need a crescent wrench if one didn't come with the bike. If the tires aren't fully inflated, you'll need an air pump.
Why don't some bikes have kickstands?
Road and mountain bikes often don't have kickstands because they add weight and can catch on vegetation. There is space to add a kickstand if you prefer one.
