Choosing a trap depends on the type and size of pest you're dealing with.

• For small insects like flies or ants, light traps or bait stations are popular picks for indoor use.
• If you're managing rodents, solid glue traps or snap traps work in homes or garages.
• To remove larger animals like raccoons or feral cats, look for heavy-duty live animal traps that are designed for outdoor use.

Consider where you'll set it up, the pest's habits, and whether you want a reusable or disposable option. Each trap style offers unique benefits to fit different situations.

While glue traps are designed to catch pests, it's important to use them with care in homes with children or pets.

• Place traps in areas out of reach for kids and animals, like inside cabinets or behind appliances.
• Always read product labels for safety information and follow specific setup instructions.

If you're concerned, consider enclosed traps that only open for the target pest. Checking traps regularly also prevents accidental contact and helps maintain a safe household environment.

It's a good idea to check traps every few days—especially if they're placed in high-traffic pest areas.

• Replace disposable traps once they become full or lose their stickiness.
• For reusable traps, empty and clean them as needed following the product's instructions.

Regular maintenance helps improve trap effectiveness and ensures you’re managing pests efficiently. Always wash your hands after handling any trap for best hygiene practice.

Many traps are versatile, but where you should use them depends on their design.

• Light traps and glue traps are typically intended for indoor use, since weather or moisture can reduce their effectiveness.
• Live animal traps, especially heavy-duty models, are built for both indoor and outdoor setups.
• Snap and enclosed traps may also work in garages, sheds, or basements.

Always check each trap’s packaging for recommended placement and use, and follow the instructions for optimal results.

Proper disposal depends on the trap type:

• For disposable glue or bait traps, wrap them securely in a plastic bag before placing them in the trash to minimize contact.
• Reusable traps should be emptied according to the instructions—sometimes, you can release live-caught animals if allowed in your area.
• Wash reusable devices with soap and water after each use for sanitation.

Always use gloves when handling used traps and avoid direct contact with pests.
