Start by matching the riser to your gear and desk. A standing desk riser (desk converter) with a wider top surface generally suits dual monitors and a laptop better.

• Measure your desk: Note usable width and depth so the riser’s base and keyboard tray fit comfortably.
• Check platform width: Many dual‑setup risers range around 32–48 inches. Compact desks may work better with ~28–32 inches.
• Keyboard tray space: Ensure there’s room for a full‑size keyboard and mouse.
• Weight capacity: Add up monitors, laptop, and accessories; compare with the item’s rated limit.
• Features: Look for dual‑monitor support, VESA mount compatibility, and U‑shaped trays if you’re using a laptop.
• Height range: Confirm it raises high enough for your standing posture.

Review the item specs and photos on Walmart.com for exact dimensions and fit.

Both styles create a sit‑stand workstation, but they lift differently.

• Manual/gas spring: Uses a handle or levers with assisted lift. It’s quick, doesn’t need power, and can be easier to move between desks.
• Electric: Uses a motor and push‑button control. Many offer smoother, incremental adjustments; some include presets or USB ports, and a few support app controls.
• Noise and speed: Electric models may operate at a steady pace; manual designs can be very fast once you squeeze the handle. Noise levels vary by model.
• Capacity and size: Either style may support dual monitors—always check the item’s weight rating and dimensions.

Choose based on how often you switch heights, power availability, and feature preferences.

Aim for a neutral, comfortable setup that encourages relaxed posture while using your desk converter.

• Keyboard and mouse: Adjust the keyboard tray so your elbows are roughly at a right angle, with wrists straight and shoulders relaxed.
• Monitor height: Raise the top platform so the top of the screen is around eye level and an arm’s length away, adjusting for your vision and screen size.
• Laptop use: If you’re using a laptop, elevate it for screen height and use an external keyboard and mouse on the tray.
• Transitioning: Alternate sitting and standing throughout the day and make small height tweaks as needed.

These guidelines are general and comfort varies by person; consider consulting a professional for personalized advice.

Checking fit and load helps your standing desk riser feel stable and comfortable.

• Desktop footprint: Compare your desk’s usable width/depth with the riser’s base and keyboard tray measurements to ensure nothing overhangs.
• Clearance: Confirm there’s room behind and in front for lifting motion, and that the tray won’t hit walls or drawers.
• Weight capacity: Add the weight of monitors, laptop, and accessories; choose a riser with a higher rated capacity.
• Stability: Designs with wide feet or Z‑shaped frames can reduce wobble.
• Special layouts: For corners or cubicles, look for models designed for corner placement.
