Professional window cleaners often choose squeegees with sturdy, ergonomic handles and high-quality rubber or silicone blades. They look for tools with features like:

• Replaceable blades for consistent results
• Extension poles to reach high windows safely
• Combo tools that include both a washer and a squeegee

At Walmart, you'll find a variety of squeegee washers that offer these options, making it easier to achieve streak-free windows at home. Choosing a tool with a comfortable grip and the right blade size for your windows can help you get pro-level results.

It's generally best to clean windows on a cloudy day or during the early morning or late afternoon. Here’s why:

• Direct sunlight can cause cleaning solution to dry too quickly, leading to streaks.
• Mild temperatures help you work comfortably and give you more time to wipe away water and cleaner.

Try to avoid cleaning right after rain or when it’s windy, as dust and debris can stick to damp glass. Planning your cleaning around the weather can help you get sparkling, streak-free windows.

Both rubber and silicone squeegees have their strengths, so the best choice depends on your needs:

• Rubber blades are flexible and provide a close fit to glass, making them popular for indoor and outdoor use.
• Silicone blades are durable, resist wear, and work well on smooth surfaces like shower doors.

Consider what you’ll be cleaning most often and how frequently you’ll use your squeegee. Many customers like to try both types to see which works best for their windows or showers.

Letting vinegar solution sit on your windows for a minute or two can help loosen dirt and grime, especially if the glass is extra dirty. Here’s a simple approach:

1. Spray the vinegar solution evenly over the window.
2. Wait 1–2 minutes (avoid letting it dry).
3. Wipe away with a squeegee or microfiber cloth for a clear finish.

This method can make cleaning easier, but always test on a small area first if you’re unsure how your window surface will react.

Keeping your squeegee clean helps it last longer and keeps your windows streak-free. Here’s how you can do it:

• Rinse the blade with warm water to remove dirt and cleaning solution.
• Wipe the handle and frame with a damp cloth.
• Let the squeegee air dry or pat it dry with a towel before storing.

Regular cleaning prevents buildup on the blade, so your squeegee is ready for the next use. Store it in a dry place to keep the blade in good shape.
