The amount of fabric you'll need for a scrub top depends on the size and style you choose. For most adult sizes (S-XL), you'll typically need about 1.5 to 2 yards of fabric if the width is 44-45 inches. Larger sizes or tops with longer sleeves or extra pockets may require closer to 2.5 yards. It's a good idea to check your pattern's instructions for the most accurate measurement. If you're adding fun patterns or want to match prints, consider buying a little extra fabric to allow for adjustments.

Scrub tops are usually made from fabrics that are comfortable, durable, and easy to care for.

• Cotton blends are popular because they're breathable and soft.
• Polyester blends add wrinkle resistance and help the tops hold their shape after washing.
• Some fabrics include a bit of spandex for stretch and extra comfort.

2. Select a fabric with a pattern you love, making sure it's suitable for apparel (like cotton or a cotton blend).
3. Gather basic sewing supplies: scissors, pins, thread, and a sewing machine.
4. Follow the pattern instructions to cut and sew your pieces together, paying attention to pocket placement and seam allowances.

• Wash in cold or warm water with similar colors to help preserve the pattern.
