Roach traps use attractants or sticky surfaces to lure and capture cockroaches. Most traps are designed to be placed along walls or in corners where roaches travel. Once a roach enters, it gets stuck on the adhesive or comes into contact with bait.

• Sticky traps physically trap roaches so they can't escape.
• Bait stations use food-based attractants combined with insecticide to target roaches inside the trap.

Traps can help monitor and reduce roach activity, but for best results, use them alongside good cleaning habits and other pest control methods.

Placement is key for getting the most out of roach guards.

• Put traps near areas where you've seen roaches, like under sinks, behind appliances, or in cabinets.
• Focus on dark, warm spots and along walls, since roaches tend to travel these paths.
• Avoid placing traps in open areas or where pets and kids can reach them.

Check traps regularly and move them if you don't see any activity after a week or two. This helps target the most active spots in your home.

Many roach traps are designed to be used indoors, but it's important to follow all safety instructions on the packaging.

• Place traps out of reach of children and pets, such as behind appliances or inside cabinets.
• Choose traps that don't use loose chemicals or sprays if you're concerned about exposure.

Always wash your hands after handling traps and keep an eye on curious pets or kids to prevent accidental contact.

It's a good idea to check your roach traps every few days.

• Replace sticky traps when they're full of insects or dust, or after about 30 days, whichever comes first.
• Bait stations may last longer, but swap them out according to the instructions on the package.

Regularly replacing traps helps keep them effective and ensures you're catching new roaches as they appear.

Cleaning before setting out roach guards can make them more effective.

• Remove food crumbs, spills, and clutter to reduce other food sources for roaches.
• Seal up cracks and fix leaks to limit hiding spots and water access.

By cleaning first, you encourage roaches to seek out the traps, making your pest control efforts more successful over time.
