Pool table spots are small markers placed on the felt to help with ball positioning and game setup. They’re especially important for games like eight-ball or snooker, where the cue ball or colored balls need to be placed in specific locations. These spots make it easier to consistently set up breaks and ensure fair play.

• They help players quickly find the right place for balls.
• Spots can also assist with practicing shots and aiming.
• Using spots keeps the game accurate and enjoyable for everyone.

If you’re setting up a home table, adding spots can make your games more professional and fun.

The main spot on a pool table is usually called the foot spot. This is the spot where the balls are racked for the break shot in games like eight-ball or nine-ball.

• Some tables also have a head spot or center spot for different games.
• Spots are often small, round stickers or dots placed on the felt.
• They’re designed to be visible but not interfere with play.

If you’re shopping for pool table spots, look for self-adhesive markers that are easy to apply and replace.

Pool table spots are placed at specific locations depending on the game you’re playing.

• The foot spot is usually at the intersection of the center line and the foot string, near the end of the table where balls are racked.
• Some tables have extra spots for games like snooker or for marking the center ball position.
• To install, gently press the spot onto a clean area of the felt.

Make sure to follow your game’s rules and use a ruler or template for accurate placement. Properly placed spots help keep your games fair and consistent.

The "30 rule" in pool is a guideline used to estimate the angle at which the cue ball will travel after hitting an object ball.

• It’s often used by players to improve shot accuracy and predict cue ball movement.
• The rule suggests that, under certain conditions, the cue ball will deflect about 30 degrees from its original path after contact.
• This can help with planning position play and avoiding scratches.

While it’s not a strict rule for every shot, understanding the 30 rule can make your practice sessions more effective and help you develop better control on the table.

Replacing a worn pool table spot is simple and keeps your table looking sharp.

1. First, gently remove the old spot using tweezers or your fingernail.
2. Clean the area with a dry cloth to remove any residue.
3. Peel the backing off a new self-adhesive spot and carefully press it onto the correct location.
4. Make sure it’s flat and secure before playing.

Using replacement spots helps maintain accuracy for ball placement and keeps your table ready for every game. You’ll find a variety of spot markers in the accessories section for easy updates.
