When setting up an above-ground pool, many people use closed-cell foam padding underneath. This type of foam helps create a smooth surface, cushions the pool liner, and adds a layer of protection against rocks or debris. Closed-cell foam is water-resistant and doesn't absorb moisture, making it a popular choice for pool bases. You can find rolls or sheets of pool wall foam or specialized pool pads at Walmart, designed specifically for this purpose. Always check the product details to ensure it's suitable for your pool size and type.

Pool wall foam is a thin layer of closed-cell material that lines the inside walls of an above-ground pool before the liner is installed.

• Protects the liner: It acts as a buffer, reducing the risk of punctures or tears from the pool frame or rough surfaces.
• Improves comfort: The foam creates a softer feel against the pool walls, making swimming more enjoyable.
• Insulates: It can help maintain water temperature by adding a layer of insulation.

Foam on pool water is usually caused by a buildup of organic materials, such as body oils, lotions, or detergents from swimsuits. When these substances mix with water and get agitated by swimmers or pool jets, they can create bubbles that look like foam. Sometimes, using certain pool chemicals or algaecides can also contribute to foaming. Regular cleaning, proper water balance, and rinsing off before swimming can help reduce foam buildup. If foam persists, you might want to check your pool's chemical levels or consult a pool care specialist for advice.

Pool foam may go away on its own if the cause is minor, like a small amount of lotion or shampoo. However, if the foam is due to ongoing water chemistry issues or a buildup of contaminants, it might stick around until you address the source.

• Try skimming the surface and running your pool filter longer.
• Check and balance your pool's chemicals.
• Consider using a pool defoamer if needed.

Choosing a pool noodle depends on how you plan to use it.

• For floating and relaxing: Look for thicker, extra-large foam noodles for more buoyancy and comfort.
• For water games or crafts: Standard or hollow noodles are lightweight and easy to handle.
• For exercise or training: Denser foam noodles offer better support and durability.
