Choosing the right size plaster hawk depends on the type of job and your comfort.

• Smaller hawks (around 8-10 inches) are easier to handle for beginners or smaller projects.
• Larger hawks (up to 14 inches) can hold more material, which is helpful for bigger jobs but may be heavier.
• Consider your hand strength and how much material you want to carry at once.

Trying different sizes can help you find what feels best for your needs. Walmart offers a variety of sizes, so you can select what works for you.

Aluminum and magnesium hawks each have their own benefits.

• Aluminum hawks are durable and resistant to rust, making them a solid choice for frequent use.
• Magnesium hawks are lighter, which can reduce fatigue during long jobs.
• Both materials are sturdy, but magnesium is often preferred for its lighter weight.

Consider which feels more comfortable and suits your work style. Walmart carries both types, so you can compare options easily.

2. Use a soft brush to remove stuck-on material.
