Using a pineapple ring cutter is pretty straightforward. Start by slicing off the top of the pineapple to create a flat surface. Place the cutter's center over the pineapple core, then press down and twist the handle gently. The tool will spiral through the fruit, separating the core and creating even rings. Once you reach the bottom, pull the cutter out and slide off the rings. Always follow the instructions included with your tool and handle the blade carefully to avoid injury.

Many stainless steel pineapple corers are designed to be dishwasher safe, making cleanup easy. However, it's a good idea to check the packaging or manufacturer's guidelines for your specific tool. If dishwasher use is allowed, place the corer on the top rack. For hand washing, use warm soapy water and a brush to remove any fruit residue, then dry thoroughly to prevent water spots or rust.

While pineapple ring cutters are specially designed for pineapples, some models can also handle similar-sized fruits like apples or pears, depending on the blade size and shape. Always check your tool's instructions to see which fruits are recommended. Using the cutter only on suitable fruits helps maintain its sharpness and ensures safe operation.

Pineapple cutters have sharp blades, so it's best for adults to handle them. If kids want to help, let them participate in non-cutting steps, like placing the pineapple or removing the rings after cutting. Always supervise children in the kitchen and store the cutter safely out of reach when not in use to prevent accidents.

After cleaning and drying your pineapple corer, store it in a dry place, such as a kitchen drawer or utensil holder. Some models come with protective blade covers—use these if available to prevent accidental cuts and keep the blade sharp. Keeping the tool dry and covered helps extend its lifespan and ensures it's ready for your next use.
