Painting an unfinished nutcracker cutout is a fun way to personalize your holiday decor. Start by lightly sanding the wood to smooth out any rough spots. Next, apply a base coat of acrylic paint and let it dry completely. You can use smaller brushes for details like faces, uniforms, or accessories. If you want a glossy finish, add a clear sealant once your design is dry. Remember to work in a well-ventilated area and protect your workspace with newspaper or a drop cloth. This process lets you create a unique piece for your home or as a gift.
