Most modern Android tablets support Netflix streaming, but it’s important to check for a few key features before purchasing. Look for tablets that run recent versions of Android (such as Android 12 or higher) and are Google Certified, as these typically support the official Netflix app. Some tablets may even mention Netflix compatibility in their product details. If you’re shopping on Walmart.com, you can use the filters or product descriptions to confirm compatibility. For the best experience, ensure your tablet supports HD playback and has access to the Google Play Store for easy app downloads.

There are a few common reasons why Netflix might stop working on your tablet:

• Outdated Software: Older tablets with outdated operating systems may no longer support the latest Netflix app updates.
• App Issues: Sometimes, the app may need to be updated or reinstalled to fix bugs.
• Device Compatibility: If your tablet is no longer supported by Netflix, you may see error messages or the app may not open.

Try updating your tablet’s software and the Netflix app. If issues persist, check the Netflix Help Center for device compatibility information.

The "2 minute rule" on Netflix refers to a streaming policy where, if a device plays a title for less than two minutes, it may not count as a full view or impact your recommendations. This is helpful if you accidentally start a show or movie and quickly exit—it won’t affect your watch history as much. Keep in mind, this rule is more about how Netflix tracks viewing data and doesn’t affect your ability to stream content on compatible tablets.

To see if your tablet supports the latest Netflix updates, follow these steps:

1. Open the Google Play Store on your tablet.
2. Search for "Netflix" and select the app.
3. If you see an "Update" button, your device supports the latest version. If you see "Install," you can download it fresh.
4. If the app isn’t available or says it’s incompatible, your tablet may not support current updates.

Keeping your tablet’s operating system up to date can also help maintain Netflix compatibility.

Many tablets designed for kids include parental controls that let you manage app access, including Netflix. You can set up a Netflix Kids profile, which filters content to be age-appropriate and blocks mature titles. Additionally, some tablets offer built-in screen time limits and content restrictions. For extra peace of mind, review the tablet’s parental control features and set up profiles before handing the device to your child. Always supervise usage and adjust settings as needed to fit your family’s needs.
