Think about the gifts you plan to tuck inside and your available space.

• Mini (about 7-9 inches): great for candy, gift cards, or place settings.
• Standard (around 17-18 inches): fits small toys, accessories, and treats.
• Large/XL (about 20-21 inches): leaves room for bulkier surprises.

Measure your mantel, staircase, or wall to plan spacing, and check each personalized Christmas stocking’s listed height, cuff width, and loop placement. If you’re building a family set, pick one style and order different initials for a cohesive look. On Walmart, you can browse monogrammed stocking sizes and see delivery or pickup options displayed on each product page.

Many monogrammed stockings are pre-embroidered with a single letter. Personalization typically means you choose the initial (A-Z) from the available variants, rather than submitting custom text.

• Review photos to see letter style, placement, and thread color.
• Check the description for details like knit vs. velvet, cuff type, bows, or themed motifs (such as a paw).
• If building a matching set, select the same stocking style across different initials.

Availability for certain letters can vary. If your initial isn’t listed, explore similar personalized Christmas stocking designs or set up in-stock alerts. Ordering pages usually show shipping, delivery, and pickup options when you view the item.

The best choice depends on your style and how you’ll use it.

• Knit/cable knit: cozy texture, classic look, slight flex for irregularly shaped goodies.
• Velvet with plush cuffs: rich color and soft feel; monogram letters often stand out.
• Burlap/jute: rustic, farmhouse vibe with a sturdy hand.

Consider durability (reinforced hanging loop, lined interiors) if stockings may be handled often. For homes with pets or kids, tighter weaves can help resist snags. Care needs differ by fabric, so check the product page for cleaning guidance before you add to cart. Mixing materials across initials can create a personalized, collected look for your holiday decor.

Hanging safely helps protect your decor and your fireplace.

• Use stocking holders, mantle hooks, or adhesive hooks suitable for your surface.
• Attach by the stocking’s loop and test with a light load before filling.
• Keep a safe distance from open flames or high heat; remove stockings when the fireplace is in use.
• For banisters or shelves, ribbon ties or garlands can distribute weight.
• Heavier fillings may need sturdier hooks; consider loading after the fire is off.

You can find holders and hooks in holiday decor sections. Product pages list dimensions and photos, which can help you plan spacing across your mantle or railing.

A little care can help your stocking look good season after season.

• Spot clean gently; avoid soaking knit, velvet, or burlap.
• Air dry fully away from direct heat and sunlight.
• Use a lint roller or soft brush to refresh plush cuffs and velvet.
• Store in a breathable bag; stuff with tissue to help keep shape.
• Lay flat or hang to avoid sharp creases across embroidered initials.

Care needs can vary by fabric, so review the product’s cleaning notes before you begin. When packing decor, place stockings near the top of the bin to reduce crushing. Replacement initial stockings and coordinating styles can be viewed online if you’re expanding your set next year.
