Choosing the right size mint planter depends on where you want to place it and how much mint you plan to grow.

• For windowsills or countertops, smaller planters (around 4-6 inches) are great for compact spaces.
• If you want a larger mint patch, go for planters 7 inches or bigger.
• Make sure the planter has drainage holes to help prevent overwatering.

Consider how much space your mint roots need and how often you want to harvest. If you're unsure, starting with a medium-sized planter gives you flexibility for indoor or outdoor use.

Many mint planters featured here are suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.

• Plastic and metal planters are generally weather-resistant and can handle outdoor conditions.
• Ceramic planters may be best kept in sheltered spots to avoid cracking from temperature changes.
• Always check for drainage holes, as outdoor plants need good water flow.

Placing your mint planter outside can help your herbs thrive, but be mindful of extreme weather and bring them indoors if needed.

Keeping your mint planter clean helps your plants stay healthy.

1. Remove the plant and soil gently.
2. Wash the planter with warm water and mild soap.
3. Use a soft brush to scrub away any residue.
4. Rinse thoroughly and let it dry before replanting.

For ceramic and plastic planters, avoid harsh chemicals that could damage the finish. Regular cleaning prevents mold and keeps your mint growing strong.

Most planters on this page come with built-in drainage holes, which help prevent water from pooling at the bottom and protect your mint roots from rot.

• Drainage holes are especially important for herbs like mint, which prefer moist but not soggy soil.
• Some planters also include saucers or trays to catch excess water.

If you’re looking for planters without drainage, check the product details before purchasing. Proper drainage is key for healthy indoor and outdoor plants.

Mint thrives in bright, indirect sunlight, so placing your planter near a window is ideal.

• Kitchen windowsills are popular for easy access and good light.
• Mint can also do well on countertops or tables that get a few hours of sun daily.
• Avoid spots with drafts or direct heat sources, as these can dry out the soil.

Rotate your planter occasionally to encourage even growth. With the right spot, your mint will stay lush and ready for use in recipes or drinks.
