Setup can vary by model, but most jumbo universal remotes support one or more of these methods:

1. Code entry: Insert fresh batteries, select the device (TV, cable box, etc.), enter a brand code from the manual or product page, then test power/volume.
2. Auto code search: Use the remote’s search mode to cycle through codes and stop when your device responds.
3. Learning function: Point the original remote at the jumbo remote and “learn” specific buttons, one by one.

These steps can help improve functionality, but results may vary by device and model. Keep the original remote nearby, ensure a clear line-of-sight to the TV (IR), and consult the included instructions or the product page on Walmart.com for model-specific details.

Sizes differ by model, but jumbo remotes are noticeably larger than standard remotes to make buttons easier to see and press. On Walmart.com you’ll find lengths commonly reported around 7 to about 10 inches (for example, listings show options near 7 in/17.8 cm, 8.66 in/22 cm, and 9.84 in/25 cm). Weight and width vary, and button spacing and backlighting also differ by design.

For the best fit, check the dimensions listed under “Item details” on the product page, consider where the remote will be stored (couch caddy, tabletop), and think about hand comfort and visibility under everyday lighting.

Look for features that simplify everyday watching and reduce frustration:

• Simplified layouts: Fewer, larger buttons with clear labels for essentials like power, volume, and channel.
• High-contrast, backlit keys: Easier to see in low light.
• Learning function: Map only the buttons you need from the original remote.
• One-device or two-device modes: Some remotes focus on TV only; others add a cable box without adding complexity.
• Easy-clean surfaces: Some models are water-resistant and designed to wipe clean.

Everyone’s needs differ, so review the photos, features, and customer feedback on Walmart.com to match the remote’s design to the user’s preferences and routine.

Many big button universal remotes on Walmart.com work with IR-based TVs from a wide range of brands. Compatibility depends on the code library and features of the specific model. If your TV responds to an infrared remote, you’ll typically program the jumbo remote via code entry or auto-search. Some remotes also include a learning function that can copy commands from your original remote, which may improve compatibility.

• If you use a cable box or soundbar, look for 2-device or 4-device support.
• Voice or Bluetooth-only functions (without IR) may not be supported.

Check the product page’s compatibility notes and keep your original remote handy during setup.

Regular, gentle cleaning helps keep buttons responsive. A cautious approach is best:

1. Remove batteries before cleaning and keep liquids away from the battery compartment.
2. Wipe the surface with a dry microfiber cloth to remove dust and fingerprints.
3. For smudges, lightly dampen the cloth with water. If the product page notes a water-resistant/easy-clean design, a small amount of mild soap or 70% isopropyl on the cloth may be used. Avoid oversaturating.
4. Use a cotton swab to clean around button edges, then let the remote dry completely.

Always follow your remote’s instructions. Avoid submerging the remote, spraying cleaner directly, or using harsh chemicals that could damage labels or plastics.
