Choosing the right iron or steamer depends on your needs and fabric types. Here are a few things to consider:

• Fabric Variety: If you work with different fabrics, look for models with adjustable settings.
• Portability: Compact or travel-sized options are great for on-the-go use.
• Features: Consider extras like retractable cords, auto shut-off, or vertical steaming for added convenience.
• Water Tank Size: Larger tanks mean fewer refills, which is helpful for big ironing sessions.

Reading product descriptions and customer reviews can also help you find a good fit for your routine.

To get the most out of your garment steamer, follow these tips:

1. Hang your clothing on a sturdy hanger.
2. Fill the water tank with clean water and let the steamer heat up fully.
3. Hold the steamer upright and gently move it up and down the fabric, keeping a slight distance to avoid water spots.
4. For tough wrinkles, steam from the inside of the garment or use the steamer’s fabric brush if included.

Always check your garment’s care label before steaming to avoid damage.

Many irons and steamers offer adjustable settings for different fabrics, including delicates. Here’s how to help protect your items:

• Use the lowest heat or steam setting for delicate materials like silk or lace.
• Place a thin cloth between the iron and the fabric for extra protection.
• Test on a small, hidden area first if you’re unsure.

Always follow the garment’s care instructions for the best results.

Regular cleaning helps your iron or steamer last longer and work better. Here’s what you can do:

• Empty the water tank after each use to prevent mineral buildup.
• Wipe the soleplate or steam head with a damp cloth once cooled.
• Use distilled water if recommended by the manufacturer to reduce scaling.
• Run a cleaning cycle if your model has one, or check the manual for specific instructions.

Proper maintenance can help keep your appliance in good shape for everyday use.

Many irons and steamers have replacement parts or accessories, such as water tanks, soleplates, or fabric brushes. Availability can vary by model, so it’s a good idea to:

• Check the product page for compatible accessories.
• Look for universal parts that fit your appliance’s specifications.
• Contact Walmart’s customer service if you need help finding a specific part.

Having the right accessories can help you get the most out of your iron or steamer.
