A hook scale is a handy tool for weighing items by suspending them from a hook. Here’s how it works:

• You attach the item (like luggage, fish, or packages) to the hook at the bottom of the scale.
• The scale measures the force exerted by the weight and displays the reading on an LCD or dial.
• Digital models often offer features like unit switching (lbs/kg), auto-off, and tare functions for convenience.

Hook scales are portable and easy to use, making them great for travel, fishing, or industrial tasks.

Hook scales are designed for weighing objects, not people. They’re best used for:

• Luggage
• Fishing catches
• Packages
• Industrial materials

If you’re looking to weigh yourself, a bathroom scale is a safer and more accurate option. Hook scales typically don’t have the stability or surface needed for personal weighing.

When it comes to hook sizes, the numbering can be a bit confusing. Generally:

• A hook labeled as "4" is larger than a hook labeled as "6".
• Lower numbers indicate bigger hooks, while higher numbers mean smaller hooks.

This sizing is common in fishing and hanging scales, so double-check the product details to make sure you’re getting the right size for your needs.

Using a hook scale for luggage is simple and helps avoid overweight fees. Here’s a quick guide:

1. Turn on the scale and select your preferred unit (lbs or kg).
2. Attach your suitcase handle securely to the hook.
3. Lift the scale and hold it steady until the weight reading stabilizes.
4. Check the display for your luggage’s weight.

Be sure to use the tare function if you want to exclude the weight of any straps or containers.

To keep your hook scale in good shape, follow these storage tips:

• Store it in a dry, cool place to prevent moisture damage.
• Avoid dropping or exposing it to heavy impacts.
• Remove batteries if you won’t use it for a while to prevent corrosion.
• Keep it away from dust and direct sunlight.

Proper storage helps maintain accuracy and extends the life of your scale.
