Generally, toffee is a confection created by cooking sugar with butter until it reaches a caramelized stage, resulting in a firm, crunchy texture. Some versions include a chocolate-flavored coating or mix-ins like nuts. Baking bits are simply ready-to-use pieces of that toffee, broken down to blend into batters or top desserts.

If you have dietary or allergy considerations, review the nutrition and ingredient sections before purchasing, and consider speaking with a qualified professional for personalized guidance.

Both are toffee baking pieces, but they offer different textures and flavor experiences.

• Chocolatey toffee bits: Toffee pieces with a chocolate-flavored coating that can add pockets of chocolatey sweetness in cookies and bars.
• Brickle toffee bits: Plain toffee pieces without a coating that tend to stay crunchier and highlight buttery, caramel notes.

Choose chocolatey bits when you want a richer, chocolate-forward bite. Pick brickle when you prefer extra crunch or classic toffee flavor, like sprinkling over ice cream or mixing into shortbread. Product titles and descriptions here indicate which style you’re viewing.

It depends on the style of bit and your recipe.

• Plain toffee bits: Often soften slightly in batter but keep some crunch, especially on the surface.
• Chocolatey-coated bits: The coating may melt and create little pockets of sweetness.

Oven temperature, batter moisture, and bake time can influence texture. To keep more crunch, try folding some bits in near the end and reserve a handful to press on top before or after baking. When used as a topping on cold desserts, they typically stay crunchy.

To help maintain freshness, store baking bits in a cool, dry place away from heat and humidity.

• Keep the bag tightly sealed or transfer to an airtight container.
• Avoid direct sunlight and strong odors.
• Check the “best by” date and rotate older stock first if you buy multipacks or bulk.

Storage guidance can vary by product, so reviewing the package details on the product page is advisable. If ordering online, scheduling Pickup or Delivery close to when you plan to bake can help reduce time in warm environments.
