Choosing the right size exercise cup depends on your hydration and mixing needs:

• For workouts with supplements or protein shakes, a 20 to 24 oz cup is popular for single servings.
• If you prefer more water or larger mixes, consider sizes around 28 to 32 oz.
• Pay attention to cup dimensions to ensure it fits your gym bag or car holder.

Each size can serve different routines, so consider what’s most convenient for you during and after your workouts.

Exercise cups are typically made from a few main materials:

• Stainless steel – Durable, resists rust, and often provides insulation to keep drinks at the desired temperature.
• Tritan or other BPA-free plastics – Lightweight and shatter-resistant, making them great for active use.
• Mixed materials – Some cups combine plastic and metal for extra features like wire whisks or storage compartments.

Each material has its benefits, so think about what’s most important for your routine.

Most exercise cups are designed for mixing cold or room-temperature drinks, such as protein shakes or water. Some stainless steel versions may keep drinks hot for a while, but always check the product details. Exercise cups with plastic bodies or mixing mechanisms often aren't suited for hot liquids due to possible warping or burns. If you want to use one for hot beverages, look for clear references to heat resistance or insulation in the product description, and handle with care to avoid spills or scalds.

Keeping your exercise cup clean helps it last longer and stay fresh:

• Rinse your cup right after use to prevent residue from drying.
• Wash with warm, soapy water and use a bottle brush for the hard-to-reach spots.
• Many exercise cups are top-rack dishwasher safe—double-check the instructions before running it through a cycle.
• Allow all parts to dry completely before reassembling to help avoid odors.

Many exercise cups feature built-in storage compartments—these let you carry protein powder, supplements, or snacks separately from your drink. Some cups include screw-on or snap-in containers that attach to the base. This is especially useful for prepping your workout routine or mixing shakes on the go. Check the product details to see if the cup you’re interested in includes this handy feature.
