Choosing the right epoxy squeegee size depends on the area you’re working on and the type of project. Here’s what to consider:

• Project Size: For small spaces or detail work, a smaller squeegee (around 10-14 inches) offers better control. Larger areas like garages or commercial floors benefit from wider squeegees (16-24 inches) for faster coverage.
• Material Type: Notched squeegees are great for spreading epoxy evenly, while flat blades work well for smooth surfaces.
• Handle Length: Longer handles help reduce bending and make it easier to reach across wide surfaces.

Check product descriptions for details to match your needs.

Keeping your epoxy squeegee clean helps it last longer and work better. Here’s a simple cleaning routine:

1. Clean Immediately: Wipe off excess epoxy with a disposable cloth right after use.
2. Use Warm Water: Rinse the squeegee blade with warm, soapy water before the epoxy hardens.
3. Scrape Gently: For stubborn residue, use a plastic scraper—avoid metal tools to prevent damage.
4. Dry Thoroughly: Let the squeegee air dry before storing to prevent mold or mildew.

Always follow any care instructions included with your tool.

Many epoxy squeegees are versatile and can be used with other floor coatings like urethane, sealers, or paints. The key is to check the blade material and notching:

• Notched Blades: These are designed for spreading self-leveling coatings evenly, making them suitable for various liquid applications.
• Flat Blades: Great for removing water or applying thin coatings.

Always review the product details to ensure compatibility with your chosen coating.

Proper storage keeps your epoxy squeegee in good shape for future projects. Here’s how:

• Clean First: Make sure the squeegee is completely clean and dry.
• Store Upright: Hang it by the handle or store it upright to prevent the blade from warping.
• Avoid Heavy Items: Don’t place heavy objects on top of the blade, as this can cause damage.

Storing your squeegee correctly helps maintain its performance over time.

Some epoxy squeegees offer replacement blades, especially those designed for professional or frequent use. Here’s what to know:

• Check Product Details: Look for squeegees with removable or interchangeable blades.
• Availability: Replacement blades may be sold separately—search by the squeegee’s size and style.
• Installation: Most replacement blades are easy to swap out with basic tools.
