Color changing egg timers are designed to sit in the water with your eggs as they boil. As the water heats up, the timer gradually changes color to indicate the doneness level—soft, medium, or hard boiled.

• Visual cues: The color shift helps you know when to remove your eggs, so you don’t have to guess or rely on a clock.
• Reusable: These timers can be used again and again, making them a handy tool for consistent results.

Just place the timer in the pot with your eggs and watch for the color change that matches your preferred doneness.

Absolutely! Kitchen timers are versatile tools that can help with much more than just boiling eggs.

• Cooking: Use them to time baking, roasting, or simmering dishes.
• Games and activities: They're great for timing board games, workouts, or study sessions.
• Classroom use: Teachers often use timers to manage activities or transitions.

Most kitchen timers are designed for general use, so you can get creative with how you use them around your home or office.

Digital and mechanical egg timers both help you keep track of cooking time, but they work a bit differently:

• Digital timers: These usually have a clear display, can be set to the exact minute or second, and often include features like alarms or countdowns.
• Mechanical timers: These are typically wound up by hand and count down with a ticking sound. They don’t require batteries and are simple to use.

Choosing between them depends on your preference for precision, ease of use, and whether you want a battery-free option.

Cleaning your egg timer depends on its type:

• Mechanical or color changing timers: Wipe the surface with a damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid submerging in water, especially if it has moving parts or isn’t labeled as waterproof.
• Digital timers: Use a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth to clean the display and buttons. Keep moisture away from battery compartments.

Always check the product instructions for specific cleaning tips to help keep your timer working well.

Some egg timers are designed to go directly into boiling water, especially color changing models.

• Check the packaging: Only use timers labeled as safe for boiling water in your pot.
• Material matters: These timers are usually made from heat-resistant, food-safe materials.

For other types, like digital or mechanical timers, keep them outside the pot and use them to track time. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions for safe use.
