Choosing the right size splint for your dog starts with measuring their leg carefully.

• Use a soft tape measure to check the length from the paw up to the joint you want to support.
• Measure the circumference at the widest part of the leg.
• Compare your measurements to the sizing guide provided on the product page.

If your dog is between sizes, consider their comfort and mobility. A snug fit helps with support, but it shouldn't be too tight. If you're unsure, reach out to your vet or use Walmart's customer support for guidance.

Most dogs shouldn't wear a splint continuously without breaks.

• It's important to check your dog's skin and fur regularly for irritation.
• Remove the splint for cleaning and to let your dog's leg breathe.
• Follow any instructions from your vet about how long to keep the splint on.

If your dog seems uncomfortable or you notice swelling, take the splint off and consult a professional. Using splints responsibly can help your dog recover and stay comfortable.

Keeping your dog's leg brace clean helps prevent skin issues and keeps the brace working well.

1. Remove the brace and check for dirt or debris.
2. Most braces can be wiped with a damp cloth and mild soap.
3. Let the brace air dry completely before putting it back on your dog.

Avoid harsh chemicals or soaking the brace unless the instructions say it's safe. Regular cleaning keeps your dog's leg healthy and the brace in good shape.

When your dog is wearing a splint, keep an eye out for signs of discomfort or issues.

• Check for swelling, redness, or sores under the brace.
• Watch your dog's walking pattern—any limping or reluctance to move could mean the splint isn't fitting right.
• Monitor for chewing or licking at the splint, which may signal irritation.

If you notice any problems, remove the splint and contact your vet. Regular checks help your dog stay safe and comfortable during recovery.

Dog splints can offer support during post-surgery recovery, especially for joint or leg injuries.

• They help stabilize the affected area, reducing movement and aiding healing.
• Splints may protect wounds from licking or further injury.
• Always follow your vet's advice on using a splint after surgery.

While splints are helpful for many dogs, each situation is unique. It's best to check with your vet to see if a splint is right for your dog's recovery plan.
