Copper mesh and copper wool can help deter mice by filling small gaps they use to enter, but they’re best as part of a broader prevention plan. Effectiveness depends on placement and building conditions.

• Target openings around pipes, vents, and cracks.
• Pack the mesh tightly; consider using a compatible sealant for longer-lasting coverage.
• Inspect regularly and re-pack if it loosens.
• Combine with good sanitation and secure food storage.

You’ll find copper mesh rolls and rodent control kits on this page. Check product details and local guidelines before sealing structural openings, and keep in mind results can vary.

On Walmart.com, product listings specify materials such as “100% copper,” “copper-coated,” or “steel wool.” Reviewing those details is the best way to know what you’re buying.

• Read the item description and specifications for material information.
• Pure copper pads typically resist rust but can darken (develop patina) with use.
• Copper-coated steel offers scrubbing power; the base metal may rust if the coating wears.
• For nonstick cookware, look for “non-scratch” in the listing and start gently.

Compare multiple listings and pack sizes to find the right fit. If anything’s unclear, you can contact the seller through the product page.

Material makes the difference.

• Pure copper scouring pads don’t rust like iron-based products. They can tarnish and develop a brown or green patina.
• Copper-plated steel or traditional steel wool can rust, especially if left wet.
• Rinse pads after use and let them air-dry to help reduce wear.
• Store in a dry spot and replace when the weave flattens or unravels.

Check each product description to confirm the material before you buy. These care steps can help extend useful life, but actual longevity varies based on how often and where the pad is used.

Copper wool and copper scouring pads are versatile cleaning tools, and copper mesh products can also support pest exclusion. Common uses include:

• Scrubbing stuck-on grease from pots, pans, oven racks, and grills.
• Gentler, non-scratch cleaning on certain surfaces when the item is labeled nonstick-safe.
• Filling small gaps with copper mesh as part of rodent and slug deterrence.
• General kitchen and bath cleanup, like sinks and tile grout.

Choose the style that fits your task—knitted balls, flat pads, or mesh rolls—and always test on a small area first. Product details on Walmart.com outline intended uses.

A few simple habits can help copper scouring pads last longer:

• Rinse thoroughly to remove food debris and cleaners.
• Press out excess water and let the pad air-dry.
• Avoid prolonged soaking; moisture can accelerate wear in metal pads.
• Store in a dry, ventilated spot between uses.
• Replace when the weave loosens, sheds, or begins to scratch surfaces.

For cookware with delicate coatings, switch to a non-scratch pad and start light. You can compare materials and pack sizes on Walmart.com, then choose convenient pickup or delivery options.
