Choosing the right size clamshell container depends on what you plan to store or serve.

• For sandwiches, salads, or pastries, check the container's dimensions and compare them to your food items.
• Smaller containers work well for single servings or snacks, while larger ones are great for meal portions or multiple treats.
• Consider the height if you’re packing items like cupcakes or layered desserts.

Review the product details for measurements to help you decide. If you’re unsure, it can help to measure your food or items at home before purchasing.

Most clamshell containers are designed to handle both hot and cold foods, but it’s important to check the product description for temperature guidelines.

• Plastic clamshells are typically suitable for cold salads, fruits, and desserts.
• Some are made to withstand warm foods, but not all are microwave-safe or intended for very hot items.

Always look for any notes about heat resistance or recommended uses to make sure the container fits your needs.

Many plastic clamshell containers can be reused for storing leftovers, organizing small items, or packing lunches.

• Before reusing, wash the container thoroughly with warm, soapy water and let it dry completely.
• Check for any signs of wear, like cracks or warping, which may affect the container’s performance.

Keep in mind that repeated use may shorten the container’s lifespan, and not all are designed for long-term reuse.

To help keep food fresh in clamshell containers:

• Make sure the lid is closed tightly to reduce air exposure.
• Store the container in the refrigerator if the food is perishable.
• For items like baked goods, consider adding a piece of parchment paper to absorb excess moisture.

While clamshells help with short-term freshness, they may not be airtight, so plan to enjoy your food soon after packing.

Clamshell containers are versatile and can be used for more than just food.

• They’re handy for organizing craft supplies, small toys, or office items.
• Some people use them for storing wax melts or homemade candles.
• They can also be used for party favors or gift packaging.

Just make sure to clean the container thoroughly if you’re switching from food to non-food uses.
