Yes, when setting up a chess board, the queen is placed on the square that matches her color. That means the white queen goes on a white (light) square and the black queen goes on a black (dark) square. To help remember, just think "queen on her color." This setup helps ensure the game starts correctly and avoids confusion during play. If you're using a chess table with a fixed board, check for any markings or guides to help with proper placement.

Chess tables can be pricier than standard tables due to several factors:

• Materials: Many are crafted from quality woods, marble, or other durable materials.
• Craftsmanship: Detailed inlays and hand-finished touches add to the cost.
• Multi-functionality: Some tables double as checkers or backgammon tables, increasing their value.
• Design: Unique or custom designs can also raise the price.

These features make chess tables not just game surfaces but also stylish pieces of furniture for your home or game room.

Choosing a chess table depends on how you plan to use it:

• Space: Measure your room to ensure the table fits comfortably.
• Features: Some tables include storage for pieces or double as other game tables.
• Material: Consider wood for a classic look or marble for a modern style.
• Portability: If you want to move it around, look for lighter or folding options.

Think about who’ll be playing and where, so you find a table that matches your needs and style.
