Choosing the right size for a character coat is easier when you check the size chart provided on each product page. Here are some tips:

• Measure your child’s chest, waist, and height for the most accurate fit.
• Compare those measurements to the chart, as sizing can vary between brands and styles.
• If your child is between sizes or prefers a looser fit, consider sizing up, especially for layering in colder weather.
• Look for adjustable features like elastic cuffs or drawstrings, which can help fine-tune the fit.

If you’re still unsure, Walmart’s free returns make it easy to exchange for a different size if needed.

Many character coats are designed for different seasons, so it’s important to check the product description for details on warmth and insulation.

• Puffer and quilted styles usually offer more warmth for colder months.
• Lightweight jackets and windbreakers are better for fall or spring.
• Some coats feature fleece or faux-shearling linings for extra comfort during winter.

Most character coats can be machine washed, but it’s always best to check the care label inside the jacket for specific instructions.

• Use a gentle cycle with cold water to help preserve colors and graphics.
• Close all zippers and fasteners before washing to prevent snags.
• Avoid using bleach or harsh detergents, as these can damage the fabric and prints.
• Air drying is often recommended to maintain the coat’s shape and avoid shrinkage.

When shopping for a character rain jacket, consider these helpful features:

• Waterproof or water-resistant materials to keep kids dry.
• Attached hoods for extra protection against rain and wind.
• Secure closures like zippers or snaps that are easy for little hands to use.
• Reflective details for added visibility on gloomy days.
• Lightweight design so it’s comfortable for everyday wear or packing in a backpack.

These features can help make rainy days a little more fun and comfortable for your child.

Properly storing character coats helps keep them in good shape for next season.

• Make sure the coat is clean and completely dry before putting it away.
• Hang coats on sturdy hangers to maintain their shape, especially for puffer or quilted styles.
• Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent fading.
• For long-term storage, consider using garment bags or storage bins to protect from dust and pests.
