To help celery stay crisp in your fridge, use a dedicated celery keeper or produce storage container with an airtight lid. These containers often include a removable colander or drainer, which helps excess moisture escape and prevents sogginess.

• Wash and dry celery before storing.
• Place stalks in the container, making sure they're not overcrowded.
• Store in the crisper drawer for optimal humidity.

Using a produce saver can help maintain freshness, but results may vary based on fridge conditions and how often you open the container.

Containers designed for produce storage, especially those labeled as celery keepers, are ideal. Look for features like:

• Airtight lids to minimize air exposure.
• Removable colanders or drain trays to reduce moisture buildup.
• Stackable designs for space-saving.

BPA-free plastic is commonly used, and some containers are dishwasher safe for easy cleaning. Choosing a container that fits the length of celery stalks can help prevent bruising and keep them fresher for longer.

Wrapping celery in aluminum foil is a popular home method that can help reduce moisture loss and keep celery crunchy. However, using a produce saver container with a locking lid and colander can offer more consistent results by controlling humidity and airflow.

• Foil can be a quick fix, but containers are designed for longer-term storage.
• Always check for freshness regularly, regardless of the method.

Consider your fridge space and how often you use celery when choosing a storage solution.

Celery can sometimes stay fresh for up to two weeks in the fridge, especially when stored in a produce saver container with a tight-fitting lid and moisture control features.

• Keep celery dry and avoid overcrowding.
• Check for signs of wilting or discoloration every few days.

While these containers can help extend freshness, actual shelf life depends on the initial quality of the celery and your fridge's temperature and humidity settings.

Cleaning a celery keeper is usually straightforward. Most produce saver containers are dishwasher safe, but always check the manufacturer's instructions.

• Remove any colanders or trays.
• Wash all parts with warm, soapy water or place them in the dishwasher if allowed.
• Dry thoroughly before refilling to prevent moisture buildup.

Regular cleaning helps prevent odors and keeps your celery tasting fresh.
