Start with the mattress you own (or plan to buy) and match that size—Twin, Full, Queen, King, or Twin XL/California King. Then, map out your room.

• Measure the footprint: Length/width of the bed plus headboard depth.
• Plan drawer clearance: Leave space on the side(s) where drawers open so they slide fully without hitting walls or nightstands.
• Think access: Ensure pathways for doors/closet and space to walk around.
• Use vertical storage: Storage headboards and shelves can replace a nightstand in tighter rooms.
• Power needs: If the headboard has a charging station or LED lights, place it near an outlet.

Checking the product’s dimensions on Walmart.com can help you confirm fit before ordering.

Many storage and platform bed frames use slats or a solid base and are designed to support a mattress without a box spring. Some models can accommodate a low-profile foundation, but it may raise the sleep surface and change how you reach shelves or outlets in the headboard.

• Check the listing: Look for “box spring required” or “no box spring needed.”
• Mattress thickness: Ensure the height pairs well with headboards, footboards, or LED accents.
• Center support: Verify middle legs or rails for larger sizes.
• Murphy/cabinet beds: Follow their specific mattress guidelines for weight and thickness.
• Weight capacity: Compare to your mattress and typical use.

Underbed drawers typically glide on rails or roll on casters. They can work on low-pile carpet, but plush rugs may add resistance. A little planning helps them slide more smoothly.

• Keep it level: Assemble the frame square and on a flat, stable surface.
• Add a firm base: A thin, hard-surface mat or board under the drawer path can reduce drag on soft carpet.
• Plan clearance: Leave room equal to the drawer’s listed depth so it opens fully without hitting walls.
• Choose the accessible side: If drawers are one-sided, orient that side toward open space.
• Maintain hardware: Tighten slides and keep tracks free of lint or debris.

Assembly can vary by design, but plan on building the frame first, then installing slats, the headboard, and drawers. Two people can make handling larger panels easier.

1. Prep the space: Protect floors, clear a work area, and bring basic tools.
2. Inventory parts: Check hardware and panels against the manual before starting.
3. Build square: Loosely fit pieces, then square the frame before fully tightening.
4. Slats/support: Align slats correctly and secure center legs where included.
5. Power features: Route LED/charging cables carefully and avoid pinching cords.
6. Fit drawers: Match left/right slides, adjust for smooth travel, and test before loading.

Many product pages include downloadable manuals and, in some cases, assembly videos for added guidance.

Replacement hardware and drawer components are often available, but options vary by model. Keeping your order details and manual makes the process smoother.

• Check your order: Locate the item in your Walmart.com order history for model info.
• Use the manual: Contact the manufacturer using the support details provided in the instructions.
• Share specifics: Photos, measurements, and part numbers help identify the right piece.
• Look on the product page: Some listings include downloadable parts diagrams.
• Interim fixes: Common fasteners may be found at hardware stores, but matching sizes is important.
