Choosing the right hide size is important for your ball python's comfort. Look for hides that are just big enough for your snake to curl up inside, but not so large that it feels exposed. A snug fit helps your ball python feel secure. If you're unsure, measure your snake and compare it to the hide's dimensions listed on the product page. Many hides are available in small, medium, and large sizes, so you can select one that matches your pet's needs as it grows.

• Resin: Durable and easy to clean, resin hides often mimic natural rocks or logs.
• Plastic: Lightweight and simple to maintain, plastic hides are a practical option for many setups.
• Ceramic: These can help regulate humidity and temperature but may be heavier.
• Natural wood or cork: Offers a realistic look, but check for safe finishes and easy cleaning.

Each material has its own benefits, so consider your cleaning routine and tank style when choosing.

1. Remove the hide from the terrarium regularly.
2. Wash it with warm water and a mild, reptile-safe cleaner.
3. Rinse thoroughly to remove any residue.
4. Let it dry completely before placing it back in the enclosure.

Cleaning helps prevent bacteria buildup and keeps your ball python healthy. Always follow any care instructions provided with the hide.

It's a good idea to offer at least two hides in your ball python's enclosure—one on the warm side and one on the cool side. This lets your snake choose where to rest while regulating its body temperature. Multiple hides also help reduce stress and encourage natural behaviors. You can mix different styles, like caves and logs, to create a more enriching environment.

Yes, humid hides can be helpful for ball pythons, especially during shedding. These hides are designed to hold moisture, creating a humid microclimate inside. To set one up, place damp sphagnum moss or substrate inside the hide and check regularly to maintain humidity. Humid hides can support healthy skin and ease the shedding process, but be sure to monitor for mold and keep the hide clean.
